Positive UKAS report for Somerset Scientific Services

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) have carried out a week-long inspection of Somerset Scientific Services. Asbestos and water services are monitored annually to ensure we comply with quality standards. Both technical and administrative competence are rigorously scrutinised during the inspection. Commitment To Quality

In their Executive Summary, UKAS noted the team’s “commitment to quality and improvement,” as we continue to fine tune our practices to deliver the best possible service to the public. Our strong evaluation processes are “corroborated by good customer feedback.”

The report also praised test and inspection reports as being “clear and unambiguous”, and said that staff were “competent and knowledgeable.” The service demonstrates excellent overall performance in external proficiency testing.

The assessor concluded that Somerset Scientific Services management and technical operations continue to comply with requirements and provide a service that meets the needs of its customers.

Service Manager Iain Hunter said “I am so proud of my team for all their hard work and dedication. They are committed to offering a trustworthy service of the highest standard. Maintaining our UKAS accreditation is a key factor in assuring our clients that they are purchasing a service they can rely on.”
